Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general, is in hot water after a woman testified to the congressional panel that she witnessed Gaetz having sex with her friend in 2017.
The friend was allegedly just 17 years old at the time.
“She was invited to a party in July of 2017,” Joel Leppard, who is representing the woman, said on “OutFront.”. “She testified to the House that as she was walking out to the pool area, she turned to her right and she witnessed … her friend having sex with Rep. Gaetz. And her friend at that time was 17.”
Leppard is also representing a second woman. It is alleged that both women were paid to have relations with Gaetz, but he denies the claims.
The payments were allegedly made via Paypal or venue, and the sexual relations allegedly occurred at a series of events, including “individuals’ houses” and “political events,” and says the incidents spanned “over 10 times throughout July 2017 to early January 2019.”
Gaetz has denied ever having sex with a minor or paying for sex.
