Tim Hardaway was required to release an apology on Monday night … after he disturbingly compared a gamer’s rough defense to rape during the middle of a Warriors video game.
The previous Golden State super star remained in the television cubicle for the group’s unique “Run TMC” broadcast — which included Hardaway, Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond rather of the Warriors’ routine commentators — and a bit more than midway into the video game, Tim put his foot directly in his mouth.
While attempting to speak about how he felt a gamer crossed the line on defense during the Warriors’ match with the San Antonio Spurs, he shockingly stated, “See, ya’ll thought that was great D, I thought that was just raping him.”

He included, “I think he should have called the police on that.”
The other members of the broadcast cubicle rapidly attempted to proceed … however audiences were so annoyed and horrified by the remarks, Hardaway needed to release a mea culpa simply a couple of minutes later on.
“Hey everybody,” he stated as the video game headed into the 4th quarter. “I used a poor choice of words earlier in the broadcast. I want to apologize for that. And, you know, let’s get back to the game. And, let’s finish this game off with a 30-point win and go home happy.”
No word yet from the Warriors if there will be any penalty coming for Hardaway.
Of course, this is not the very first time the 56-year-old previous basketball gamer has actually angered with his words — back in 2007, during a talk on “The Dan Le Batard Show,” he infamously stated, “I hate gay people.”
Hardaway ultimately excused those remarks.
Tim played in the NBA from 1989 to 2003. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame previously this year.
