Soulja Boy went on a rant against rapper Plies, who, in a new lawsuit, accused the “Crank That” rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, and GloRilla of copyright infringement.
Plies claims Soulja sampled his 2008 track “Me & My Goons” for his 2010 hit “Pretty Boy Swag” and that Megan and Glo did the same for their single, “Wanna Be.”
“Plies, if you don’t sit your broke a-s down somewhere,” he ranted. “‘Pretty Boy Swag’ is not your beat.”
Soulja says Plies is only suing now, almost two decades later, because he is broke and needs some cash and that he’d have respected him more if he was honest about his intentions.
Megan Thee Stallion’s producer, LilJuMadeDaBeat, also claimed that the song “Wanna Be” samples Big E’s beat for “My Dougie which was released in 2006, two years before Plies’ hit.
“For the Record Pretty Boy Swag is a remake of My Dougie as well. Soulja Boy is on the My Dougie Remix. Me & My Goons literally not even the single for that Plies album,” he wrote.
