The prosecutor in charge of the case looking into One Direction star Liam Payne’s death has ruled that his death was not a suicide.

Payne fell from his hotel room’s balcony on the third floor of his Buenos Aires hotel in the exclusive neighborhood of Palermo.

His autopsy revealed that the pop singer died from multiple injuries and external bleeding.

Three people were arrested this week in connection with his death. They remain unnamed, but authorities say that the individuals were a housekeeper, a drug dealer, and a close friend of Payne’s.

A press release from Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office states that “all the injuries that Payne had were compatible with those caused by a fall from a height and that self-harm of any kind and/or physical intervention by third parties were ruled out,” the release states.

They says that the singer “did not adopt a reflex posture to protect herself from the fall” and “may have fallen in a state of semi or total unconsciousness.”
