Over the weekend, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade went all out to throw their daughter Kaavia a Barbie-themed party for her sixth birthday.
The event, held on November 9, was nothing short of magical, featuring life-size Barbie and Ken photo booths, specialty drinks and treats, Barbie dolls as party favors, and much more!
Gabrielle and Dwyane shared special moments from the celebration on Instagram, giving fans a peek into the unforgettable day. Before the party, the proud parents posted a sweet birthday message for Kaavia, who officially turned six on November 7th.
“Miss Kaavia James Union Wade is 6 today!!!” they began. “You are a miracle who has blessed everyone with your kindness, compassion, elite humor, intelligence, and your loving soul. You are a gift to your family, blood and chosen, and so many people across the world. We love you beyond measure and we celebrate your cute little self daily!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN KAAVIA!!!”
Kaavia, born via surrogate in 2018, was a long-awaited dream come true for Gabrielle, who became a mom at the age of 46.
In 2023, Union opened up about her journey to motherhood and why having a child later in life worked for her.
“It’s changed my life in so many wondrous ways that it does make me wish I had done it earlier just so I have even more time with Kaav, I have even more time as a mom,” she shared in a video.
She added, “But for me, I became a mom at the right time because I was healed and I had committed to healing eternally, so I didn’t pass all that generational trauma onto Kaav. I wasn’t in a place to even take care of myself [before], much less our little miracle, so for me it’s absolutely worth it.”
Now 52, Gabrielle calls Kaavia “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
