Wendy Williams‘ guardian recently initiated legal action against Lifetime’s parent company. The timing of this move is quite suspicious as there’s a documentary about Wendy Williams produced by them set to be released soon.
A woman named Sabrina Morrissey, acting as the temporary guardian of W.W.H. (presumably Wendy Williams Hunter), has filed a lawsuit against A&E Television Networks. However, the details of the lawsuit are currently under seal, prohibiting the public from accessing the specifics of the legal action.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, there are indications that this legal action may be related to the release of the ‘Where is Wendy Williams’ two-part documentary scheduled to premiere this Saturday.
Morrissey is also seeking a temporary restraining order in her legal action. This often serves as a mechanism to request the court to intervene and halt the release of a film or television project, possibly indicating an attempt to block the release of the documentary. Given the imminent release date of the documentary, this course of action seems plausible, although the sealed nature of the documents makes it impossible to confirm.
Morrissey additionally aims to keep all the documents temporarily sealed, with a hearing scheduled for next week to determine whether they should remain sealed as the case unfolds.
It’s worth noting that the release of the Wendy Williams documentary is slated for this weekend. Despite the timing of the sealing hearing being after the release date, it’s possible that the court will adjudicate on the merits of Morrissey’s request for injunctive relief against A&E while the documents remain temporarily sealed. There is no update yet on a ruling regarding this matter.
Efforts to reach out to Morrissey and A&E for comments have been made. As of now, there has been no response from Morrissey, while A&E has stated that they have no comment at this time.
