Alleged thieves targeted a Nike store in Tennessee in the early hours of Thursday morning, stealing approximately $200,000 worth of sneakers and merchandise. According to police in Memphis, the suspects fled the scene in five different vehicles with their lights off.
The incident occurred at the Nike Employee store, located approximately 12 miles south of downtown Memphis. Police were alerted to the robbery when an officer observed five vehicles leaving the scene with their lights off.
It remains unclear whether the officer attempted to pursue the fleeing vehicles.
Upon arrival at the scene, investigators discovered a cut chain and an open back gate to the Nike store property. Boxes from a nearby semi were also found scattered throughout the parking lot.
