The father of the late musician, Joseph Urango Jr., has spoken to TMZ, recounting the heartbreaking sequence of events leading to the passing of his son, also known as Matthew Urango. Joseph revealed that it was Matthew’s twin brother who discovered Cola Boyy unresponsive in bed.
Emergency services were called, but unfortunately, Cola Boyy was pronounced dead at the scene upon their arrival.
Reports indicate that Cola Boyy was using oxygen at home and was still connected to it when he was found by his brother.
His family suspects that his health conditions may have been a contributing factor to his untimely demise. Cola Boyy was born with spina bifida, scoliosis, and kyphosis but defied all odds, proudly labeling himself as the “disabled disco innovator.”
An investigation led by the coroner is underway to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Joseph expressed the profound loss of his son, highlighting Cola Boyy’s immense love for his fans, fellow bandmates, and above all, his family.
His music label, Record Makers, was the first to announce his passing and described him as a unique soul with timeless musical talent.
Cola Boyy captivated audiences with his charismatic stage presence from the outset of his career in 2018. He had recently completed work on his upcoming album, eagerly anticipating its release this summer.
