Machine Gun Kelly has revealed his most striking tattoo to date – a layer of solid black ink covering most of his upper torso. This remarkable transformation has been confirmed as genuine.
The rapper unveiled this new look on IG Tuesday, showcasing the black ink that now covers nearly half of his upper body. The original tattoos can be glimpsed through strategically placed panelled gaps along his arms and amidst a cross symbol on his chest.
According to his tattoo artist ROXX, who executed this stunning piece for the artist, Machine Gun Kelly’s decision to undergo this transformation was deeply personal. Reportedly, MGK had a “spiritual consultation” with ROXX, expressing that his existing tattoos felt too chaotic and that he sought change and order in his life.
In an Instagram caption, Machine Gun Kelly clarified that the blackout cover-up was for “spiritual purposes only.” Notably, Kelly disabled comments on the post.
Regarding the pain level, ROXX commended Kelly for being the most resilient client she has worked with. It’s safe to say that the process was quite painful.
ROXX revealed that the process began in mid-December, with MGK visiting her private L.A. studio four days a week for 13 six-hour sessions. Although the majority of the work is completed, there are still some final touches to be done by ROXX to finish the job.
