According to recently unsealed court documents, Jeffrey Epstein’s victim, Virginia Giuffre, was instructed to portray renowned lawyer Alan Dershowitz as a pedophile to make her book about her sexual abuse allegations more appealing to publishers.
TMZ obtained emails exchanged between Giuffre and British journalist Sharon Churcher in May 2011. Giuffre informed Churcher about finding a ghostwriter for her story and expressed her desire to include the names of individuals Jeffrey Epstein had sent her way.
Churcher replied, suggesting, “Don’t forget about Alan Dershowitz, JE’s friend and lawyer – good name for your launch, as he represented Claus von Bulow and there was a movie about that case.”
She added, “We all suspect Alan is a pedophile and although there are no allegations, you met him when he was with JE.”
Maxwell’s attorneys argue that Giuffre only added Dershowitz to her manuscript after the exchange with Churcher. Furthermore, Giuffre never alleged having had sexual relations with him and only referred to Dershowitz as an Epstein business associate.
According to the documents, Giuffre didn’t accuse Dershowitz of having sexual relations with her until December 2014. Dershowitz has consistently denied these allegations.
Another email exchange between Giuffre and Churcher includes an accusation involving Bill Clinton and Vanity Fair.
Giuffre wrote, “When I was doing some research on VF yesterday, I’m concerned about what they might want to write about me, considering that Bill Clinton went into VF and threatened them not to write sex trafficking articles about his good friend J.E.”
All the declassified documents are related to Giuffre’s 2015 civil lawsuit against Maxwell.
