Jason Kelce Reportedly Announces Retirement After Eagles’ Playoff Loss

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a defeat in their playoff game on Monday night, and following the loss, it seems they have also bid farewell to their Hall of Fame center, Jason Kelce.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jason Kelce conveyed his retirement decision to his teammates after the defeat to the Buccaneers in their wild card game in Tampa Bay.

While Kelce has not publicly confirmed the news yet and chose not to speak with reporters after the game, his emotions on the sidelines as time expired seemingly spoke volumes.

As the Eagles were officially eliminated from the postseason, cameras captured the 36-year-old display of emotions, on the brink of tears on the field and emotionally walking back through the stadium tunnel.

If this indeed marks the end of his career, Jason Kelce’s legacy as one of the greatest centers in football will be solidified. He enjoyed a remarkable 13-season career, earned seven Pro Bowl selections and was honored with All-Pro accolades five times. Furthermore, he clinched a Super Bowl championship.

Additionally, he cultivated a persona beyond the realms of football, gaining popularity off the field. Kelce, along with his brother Travis Kelce, co-hosts a successful podcast, “New Heights,” which has rapidly climbed the charts, further cementing his influence outside of the game.

It’s worth noting that Jason Kelce still has the opportunity to reconsider his decision. After the Super Bowl loss last year, he initially indicated his retirement but subsequently returned to the field as well.
