An extraordinary turn of events could lead to a gardener inheriting a staggering amount of money, a sum exceeding $6 billion!
At 80 years old, Nicolas Puech is a descendant of the Hermes founder. The luxury brand is renowned for its expensive products such as scarves, which command high prices.
Puech, who resides in Europe and possesses a wealth of $13 billion, had previously agreed to leave his fortune to the Isocrates Foundation, a charity he established. The foundation’s objective is to promote journalism and maintain a “civil society.”
However, Puech has had a change of heart and desires to allocate half of his wealth to a male individual described as a “servant, former gardener, and handyman.” The Isocrates Foundation is strongly opposed to this change and suggests that they may contest it, citing the sanctity of a contractual agreement.
Interestingly, the contract includes a clause stipulating that if Puech becomes a father, his child would be entitled to a share of his wealth. Furthermore, if the child is male, he would be entitled to at least half of the inheritance.
As an unexpected development, Puech intends to adopt his gardener, thereby making the gardener his sole heir and eligible to receive an inheritance exceeding $6 billion!
For reference, the Hermes family is reported to be the world’s third wealthiest, according to Bloomberg.
A truly unexpected turn of events!
