Goodbye, Good Riddance: Louisville NAACP Demands AG Daniel Cameron Resign For Mishandling Of Breonna Taylor Case

It appears that Louisville’s branch of the NAACP is running out of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron‘s continuous tap dance regular and the company is requiring that Cameron resign “for stopping working to perform a reasonable and unbiased examination into the deadly cops shooting of Breonna Taylor.”

“The current federal indictments of 4 Louisville Metro Police officers associated with the Breonna Taylor killing has actually highlighted, showed, and showed the deficiency of the state examination led by the Attorney General of the Commonwealth and a lack of an understanding of the Commonwealth’s criminal laws,” the NAACP stated Friday in a news release, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

As formerly reported, 4 Louisville officers were arrested by the FBI last month and among those officers, LMP Detective Kelly Hanna Goodlett pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to breach Taylor’s civil liberties by assisting to falsify an affidavit for the search of Taylor’s house.

Apparently, the NAACP Lousiville thinks all of this might have been dealt with if Cameron, who is running for guv in 2023, had actually looked for to “impose the laws similarly and relatively” throughout his workplace’s examination into Taylor’s case rather of dry-humping the legs of law enforcement officer.

“The deficiency of the examination and the absence of understanding of Kentucky criminal statutes were the outcomes of the existing Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in his own words ‘backing the blue,’ not justice,” the NAACP wrote.

“Although he is the very first African American to be chosen to a statewide workplace, that does not omit him from his duty to the whole neighborhood,” stated NAACP President Raoul Cunningham. “Nor does it omit him from fairness and equality. And we do not believe that he had that in his choice.”

“He currently chose to take sides when he stated he will essentially safeguard the blue,” Cunningham continued. “To us, that is taking a position that is not always based upon fairness.”

Of course, Cameron’s action to all of this was as dry, haphazard, and uninspired as his so-called efforts to provide even a smidgen of justice to Breonna’s household.

“I’m happy with the work I’ve done on behalf of every Kentuckian, and I am honored to serve the residents of the Commonwealth as Kentucky’s 51st Attorney General,” Cameron stated Friday in a declaration that doesn’t even trouble to point out Breonna’s name.

It’s extremely uncertain that the NAACP’s resolution requiring Cameron’s resignation—which was sent out to Cameron himself and the Kentucky General Assembly, according to WAVE 3—will lead to the Kentucky AG leaving or being pressed out of his post. Still, it’s excellent to see Black individuals declining to take their feet off Cameron’s neck.

The NAACP essentially sent out the main resolution variation of; “We ain’t forgot you, MF!” And we must be here for that.
