Former New York Giants running back Derrick Ward has pleaded not guilty to robbery charges, following allegations made against him last month.

Court records indicate that the 43-year-old is now facing seven counts of second-degree robbery for allegedly committing theft from several businesses, including gas stations, in Los Angeles.
Authorities claim that Ward did not use a firearm in the commission of the crimes, but rather used force and inducing fear to coerce employees into surrendering goods.
Ward was arrested on December 18 following the allegations. Records indicate that he posted $100,000 bond earlier this month and is scheduled for another hearing in early February.
Ward played in the NFL from 2004 to 2011 and was part of the New York Giants’ victory over Tom Brady’s undefeated Patriots in SB XLII.
