After whatever, Demi Lovato’s still standing. On Friday, the vocalist launched “Still Alive,” the lead single off the Scream VI soundtrack, which they co-wrote with Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park.
“I couldn’t think about a more best house for ‘Still Alive’ than within the Scream universe,” Lovato stated in a news release. “I’m a substantial fan of the movies, so it’s an honor to add to such a renowned scary franchise.”
Lovato appears at a hotel with a group of buddies and hands an invite to a hotel employee, played by Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas, that checks out “Do you like frightening motion pictures?” Lovato and their group of buddies then take a seat for what appears to be a screening of Scream 6. The video entwines clips from the real motion picture and Lovato and their buddies seeing it, prior to the motion picture screening all of a sudden stops revealing the movie.
As the Scream scenes magnify so does their surrounding. The individual revealing the movie — played by Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda — drops dead and Ghostface appears to attack Lovato and business as they try to combat off the bad guy and escape. “Still alive/I put on’t wanna simply endure,” they sing on the earworm pop-pink tune.
By completion of the video, Lovato battle Scream, prior to the artist is recorded holding a knife over Ghostface’s body. Turns out the Ghostface attack on Lovato was simply part of the movie they were seeing, and Lovato is the “last woman.”
“Still Alive” is Lovato’s very first drop considering that launching their pop-punk album Holy Fvck, including tunes like “Skin of My Teeth,” “29,” and “Eat Me” including Royal & the Serpent in 2015.
