Beach Boys Frontman Brian Wilson Mourns the Loss of His Wife Melinda at 77

Legendary Beach Boys frontman, Brian Wilson, shared the heartbreaking news of his wife’s passing after 28 years of marriage.

Brian announced the peaceful passing of his beloved wife, Melinda Kae Ledbetter Wilson, at their home. The official cause of death remains unknown.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Brian expressed, “Melinda was more than my wife. She was my savior. She gave me the emotional security I needed to have a career.”

Brian continued, stating, “She encouraged me to make the music that was closest to my heart. She was my anchor. She was everything for us.”

The couple adopted five children, all of whom are deeply mourning the loss.

Brian and Melinda’s enduring love story began in 1986, culminating in a heartwarming wedding at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA in 1995.

Their remarkable journey together inspired the biographical film “Love & Mercy” in 2014, with John Cusack and Elizabeth Banks portraying the couple.

The couple’s children fondly remember Melinda as “a force of nature and one of the strongest women you could come by. She was not only a model, our fathers savior, and a mother, she was a woman empowered by her spirit with a mission to better everyone she touched.”

They also acknowledge the invaluable lessons Melinda imparted, including compassion, finding beauty in adversity, and living authentically with integrity.

Melinda was 77.
