The story behind Cardi B’s smash-hit single “Bodak Yellow” goes back to Kodak Black’s “Flockin,” a record that initially got the Florida rapper signed to Atlantic Records. Cardi borrowed the instrumental and added her own touch to it, which turned into one of the biggest songs of this year and an undeniable summer anthem. As “Bodak Yellow” is reportedly set to dethrone Taylor Swift and take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 next week, Bardi grabs her labelmate for the official remix. First teased by Kodak on Monday (Sept. 18), the full version is now here with a guest verse from the Pompano Beach spitter.
“You know why I f**k with Cardi B?,” asks Kodak on the remix’s intro. “Cause they be thinking both of us crazy and sh*t.” Stream the remix below and purchase it on iTunes as Cardi B’s debut album is set to arrive later this year.
