Jay Z has cut his ties with Cristal, but he’s still sipping champagne; enter Armand de Brignac’s (BKA Ace of Spades) A2.| The sequel to their regular size A1 bottles with a bigger price tag. While the A1 retails for around $750, the A2 will cost nearly a grand at $850. In addition to more volume and price, the A2 bottles are also numbered as a result of demand from collectors. Only 2,333 bottles of A2 are being released onto the market. Jay Z had Armand de Brignac back in 2014. “We hadn’t thought about numbering them originally. But customers and collectors were requesting specific numbers: 888, or their birth date. We haven’t found counterfeit wines. With the pewter bottles and the boxes, it’s tough to do. Anyway, it’s harder to counterfeit champagne than it is to fake a red wine. It’s just too complicated.” – Sebastien Besson, CEO [via Bloomberg]
