In one of the larger drug busts in Hall county’s history, Georgia Police raided the home of Karla Alvarez earlier this week and seized over $6 million worth of cocaine and heroin, along with multiple firearms. Alvarez, who is a Spanish teacher at Chestatee Middle School Academy in Gainesville, lived in the home with Monica Pascual Brito and her brother Ricardo Pascual Brito.
Georgia authorities seized one kilogram of heroin, 61 kilograms of cocaine, and two semi-automatic assault rifles from Alvarez’s home. Worth an estimated at $6.2 million, the raid came at a heavy price for the two women after being charged with trafficking and possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine and heroin. Both women are also facing two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The third suspect, Ricardo, is facing the same charges and is currently on the run.
